Picture this:

Pink sunrise swims, surf all morning. Breakfasts outside at a big table and all day beach hangouts. Cheese and wine picnics, garden parties, vibrant nights in town.. You get the point.

Our beachfront villa (iiih we know) is located in a small and mesmerising village where surfers, artists, musicians and creatives all come together. The perfect location if you, just like us, always dreamt of life by the sea. 

During the week we'll enjoy the Basque Country to the fullest, immersing ourselves in the sea and in community. When we’re not surfing or doing yoga we'll devour in all things French and delicious. A hike day in the Pyrenees, a visit to a local board shaper, a stroll in the cute boutiques in downtown Biarritz, or a vin rouge while the sun sets over the iconic Côte des Basques. Ok, we'll stop. But we can't wait for you to discover all of our little gems and all that we love!

01 THE VILLA

Together we'll stay at a charming French villa, located less than a minute away from our favourite beach. The huge garden overlooks the ocean and village, with a pool to enjoy on warm days. 

Our dreamy neighbourhood is unmatched for a fun night out, coastal hikes, seafood restaurants or afternoons strolling through cute boutiques. Sunrise and sunset swims anyone? YES please.

This is an intimate and personal retreat. The villa accommodates 12 guests and all 5 rooms are equipped with double beds that will be shared. For us, friendships are the key to happiness. Our aim is that the villa will bring the Bonanza Collective together for the week, and that you'll leave feeling like a part of a new community.

02 SURF & YOGA

We'll surf Sunday to Thursday, with help from our local friend's surf school at the neighbouring beach. All levels are welcome but for our Biarritz Editions we recommend those who've never been on a board before or are beginners. We sincerely can't wait to watch you catch your first wave or make your first cross step!

We'll have theory lessons to teach you everything from surf etiquette and technique to good to know's. We want you to leave the week feeling confident enough to keep surfing on your own. 

As for yoga, Elin will guide you through different sessions during the week. As a certified hatha/yin teacher she'll provide a beautiful mix of slow flows and more meditative yin sessions.

03 CUISINE

Cheese, baguette, moules-frites. Colourful fruit markets and local wine stores. The French cuisine has stolen our hearts and we can't wait for it to steal yours too. During the week you'll be served a small morning snack when there’s an early activity, and a daily big brunch.

For dinner we'll combine eating out at our go-to restaurants, with home cooked dinner parties in the garden. During your stay you'll also have access to the kitchen where you can cook. We’ll make sure to tailor all meals at the villa after dietary requirements.

ROOM OPTIONS

The villa has six bedrooms, four premium rooms and two basic rooms. All common spaces like balconies, dining room, kitchen and toilets are shared.

Two of our rooms are more basic, and come without an adjoining shower and less of a view. These rooms are still charming as the rest of the villa, and we encourage everyone to share spaces like balconies and the showers in the premium rooms. There is also a separate shower on the top floor for those staying in these rooms. All toilets are common with one located on each floor.

On the second floor we have our four premium bedrooms, all with adjoining showers and a gorgeous view of either the ocean, mountains or our garden. All toilets are common with one located on each floor. Note that we encourage everyone to share spaces like balconies and showers.

HOW TO GET HERE

Biarritz is easiest to reach via plane or train. Either you fly straight into Biarritz airport, or you can choose Bordeaux, San Sebastian, Bilbao or Paris from where you catch a bus or train into the Basque Country.

We'll be able to pick you up from the airport/train station in Biarritz for a small fee and bring you to our home for the week.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • Our Biarritz editions are currently only open for women (boys, we're planning retreats for you too)
  • All equipment for surf & yoga is provided
  • No previous surf or yoga experience needed. Most girls have never surfed before
  • We’ll have a mix of eating out and cooking dinners together at the villa in true bonanza style. The price for our home cooked dinners are usually around 25-40 EUR for the week
  • Check in is on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm, and check out is on Friday morning at 10 am
  • We'll be your local guides for the week, taking you to all our favourite spots
  • As it’s an international retreat all communication will be in English
  • Bonanza Collective offers the perfect opportunity to get into the surf community and to connect with like minded women :)

YES! Most girls have never surfed before and it will be the safest and most supportive environment to learn in <3

Absolutely! On our previous retreat we've had a variety of ages. In saying this - most women tend to be between 20-35 years old.

YES! It's the perfect place to travel solo to. On previous editions 95% came on their own - and now they're meeting up for reunions all over the world. The most beautiful thing about Bonanza is the community you'll become a part of. It's so special <3

Oui! We adjust the menu to allergies and special dietary requests.

It depends on the day and the forecast, but approximately 2h/day.

All over! We've had girls joining us from Australia, USA, Malaysia, UK, Ukraine and all over Europe <3 English is used as the primary language during the week.

We don't have a waitlist. When we launch a new edition, all spots are released at the same time. If the edition you wish to join is full - send us an email and we will contact you in case of a cancellation :)

At the moment our Biarritz Editions are only open for women. Stay tuned for mixed editions and retreats :) 

There is a 20% deposit to pay when booking. The remaining amount is due six weeks before the start of the retreat. You can also choose to pay the full amount straight away.

Payments are done via the check out page with credit card. 

There is a deposit to pay when booking. This sum is non refundable. If you do want to cancel please get in touch immediately and we will do our best to help.

If cancellation is done less than 6 weeks before the start of the retreat, no refund is given.

Please make sure you have travel insurance in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
